Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian friends, family, and readers. This time of year some of us are working hard in our gardens for the last harvest of the season. This wheat is from my friend Claudia’s garden. She and her husband, Darren, have grown their own wheat for a few years. She told me a space that was 10’x20′ would provide enough flour for a loaf of bread a week for a year. And Darren’s homemade bread is amazing!

This is the large ‘bread basket of Canada’ prairie version, earlier in the season. It was taken by my super talented cousin, Glenn Sundeen. You can see more of his pictures here.
